What is Space Apps?
A worldwide weekend hackathon for coders, scientists, designers, makers, storytellers, engineers, and anyone curious. Participants team up locally or online and use free NASA datasets to tackle challenges that impact both Earth and space. Creativity counts just as much as technical skills, so no coding or space experience is required.
Who should join?
If you’ve ever wanted to try building something for good, this is your playground. Whether you’re a seasoned coder, an artist with a vision, a STEM student, or someone who loves collaborating on ambitious ideas, you belong here. No rocket science degree required.
How it works:
Teams form either in-person or virtually. Over 48 hours, you’ll pick from a set of NASA’s challenges, build something, then present to local judges. Top projects may go on to compete in the global round. There are cash prizes for local winners, free food, friendly competition and so much more!
Want to help?
We're also looking for sponsors and donors whose support helps us cover prizes, food, mentorship, and supplies. Your involvement helps make this all possible. Reach out to us here.
