HhVolunteer bcat Gasparilla Music Festival to Support Pancreatic Cancer Research

Details
We will be volunteering at the Beer Tent at the Gasparilla Music Festival 2024. All the tips will go towards Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, Pancan, a non-profit that funds research, provides patient/caregiver support, conducts community outreach, and advocates for increased federal research funding for those affected by pancreatic cancer. You can learn more about PanCan and its mission here: https://pancan.org/
Volunteer Details
Volunteers will be responsible for selling water, beer, and other beverages at the Beer Tent. This year's festival will be cashless, so our team will need to encourage guests to tip on their credit cards. THANK YOU ALL!! Excited to pour beer and enjoy some music together!! ๐ธ๐ถ๐ป๐
Please read all the volunteering and parking details below:
- You can only check in and enter at the Volunteer Entrance. This will be located on the walkway into Julian B. Lane Park on the corner of Laurel St. and North Blvd. Please arrive at least fifteen minutes before your shift, to ensure enough time to check in, get your t-shirt, and get to your assigned Beer Tent.
- You will receive your GMF Wristband at the Volunteer Tent. There will be a line specifically for the Friends of GMF. Your names will be on a list, as well as the organization (PanCan) you are with, your shift time, and your shift location.
- Since we are in a new park, we will have volunteer guides to help you find your way.
- Please take any COVID precautions that you feel are necessary.
- When you arrive on-site and get to your designated Beer Tent shift, your beer tent Captain will give you a brief training on how to use the POS systems and how to pour beer properly.
- You are able to enter before your shift and stay after your shift! We want you to enjoy yourself and you will receive a GA pass for you to use for the day you volunteer! Gates open at 4 pm on Friday and 1 pm on both Saturday and Sunday. Re-entry is allowed.
- If you do come before your shift, enjoy the music, and please be sure to check in at the Volunteer Tent 15 minutes before your shift begins to receive your shirt and assignment.
Parking:
GMF is a nonprofit, and unfortunately, we will not be able to pay for or reimburse you for parking. Any paid parking should be considered a charitable donation for tax purposes. Some parking options are below:
- Parking may be available in the FDOT lot located at 721 W. Main Street - a short walk under the overpass to the Volunteer Entrance. This is a first come, first serve staff and volunteer parking lot. Parking is not guaranteed. Please please please carpool if you plan on driving.
- Blake High School's Booster Club will be handling parking in the Blake High parking lot and garage.
- Side streets will have parking. Please be advised that some residents also sell parking spots in their yards or driveways close to the park during events.
- We also strongly encourage Uber/Lyft, having someone drop you off, carpooling, or using the Bike Valet that we will have available for free at the tennis courts facing North Boulevard.
- Hooch and Hive (1001 W. Cass St.) may also have some spots in their dirt lot available.
- If you don't mind a walk, the Poe Garage by Curtis Hixon is another option.
- The Pirate Water Taxi stops very close to Julian B. Lane Park at stop #15. Friday and Saturday hours are 11:30am-10:30pm and 11:30am-9:30pm on Sunday.
