Family friendly, great food, arrive early for good seating! Please support our host The Honu by ordering something off of their full menu. Be sure to sign up for the open mic when you arrive and have a few songs prepared. Players of all levels are welcome to perform in this supportive environment. Everyone jams together the last 30 minutes from your seats! A few notes: If this is your first time at an open mic: • If possible, please bring a ukulele with a built-in pickup. So people can hear it! • This is a ukulele event, primary instrument must be ukulele, but mixed instruments with ukulele groups welcome.
The Tampa Bay Ukulele Society (TBUS) and the Pinellas Public Library Cooperative (PPLC) are hosting a Free Strum and Sing Ukulele Workshop. Its free, its fun and its easy to practice all you’ve been learning! We'll review have you playing more songs in 5 minutes! We’ll have a brief review about tuning and chording your ukes, then we’ll JAM! TBUS will give you all the information for your continued education: TBUS events, and online resources. If you have a ukulele, please bring it. If you don't, no problem TBUS will have a limited number of ukuleles available at the workshop. (subject to availability). Tampa Bay Ukulele Society (TBUS) Hosts an Introductory Ukulele Strum & Sing Jam at the New Tampa Regional Library - 1:00 to 3:00 pm. Beginners please come a few minutes early to learn about ukuleles...the different sizes, how to hold, tune, strum, and play a few chords. We will then strum and sing a group of easy 2 to 5 chord songs to reinforce the chord changes and build new player skills. If you have a ukulele please bring it. TBUS will have a limited number of ukuleles available at the workshop. (subject to availability). If you have a Daily Ukulele Book please bring it. If you don't, we will have a limited supply on hand. Most songs will be projected for all to easily read. TBUS will give you information for continued education including local teachers, TBUS events, and online resources. You will meet other ukulele enthusiasts. See you there
This Hillsborough County open mic is held on Davis Islands in Tampa the fourth Sunday of every month beginning at 4:00 p.m. It's hosted by TBUS member Steve McClure, with Mary Mahoney serving as co-host. Following the performers we'll play a few jam songs, so bring your yellow Daily Ukulele books. Molly's is a very clean restaurant with great food. Please purchase a beverage or food item to help support them. There is parking on the south side of the building, or on the street.
