Are you ready for open mic?

You know how to play ukulele chords. You can play a song all the way through with little mistakes. You might even play songs for your spouse or special friend or two. Have you thought about playing at an open mic for (this is the scary part) strangers but been too afraid to go on stage?

Your friends, the JamALONG Gang, have come to the rescue. We've been through all these experiences, some truly funny, some downright embarrassing. But we have loved every minute of it and want to help nudge those of you who are still not sure about playing your uke and singing without a crowd of friends. We're cheering you on!

We are holding a special informal event, Open Mic Session (Tips for Tips) to share our onstage stories and offer tips on how to make your open mic a happy time. We'll have a handy tips sheet (for you to take home), a friendly panel discussion and Q & A and then the good stuff happens. It all starts at 1pm.

Sign up now to perform one song at our own "practice but for real open mic." Each player (or group) will be gently offered tips for up to two minutes from the Gang and audience present. We are all friends here and won't tolerate rude remarks.

Email emilys.jamALONG@gmail.com NOW to be on the list. There is no charge, but if you think our TIPS are worth a tip, there will be a JamALONG Fund Jar. What's collected will help pay for 2027 JamALONG refreshments, gift card trivia prizes and other expenses.

Speaking of fundraising, we'll also have some cool opportunity chance prizes to win with a $2-4 ticket. Bring some cash! Items up for grabs include:

  • A Xenyx 502 Premium 5-Input 2-Bus Mixer with Xenyx Mic Preamp and British EQ w/ manual
