potential for self-sustaining herds. Hopefully, we will spot an elk or two as we travel through the park! After an
enroute lunch stop (on your own) we’ll spend the afternoon at the charming and educational
Oconaluftee Indian Village! This living history museum recreates an 18th-century
Cherokee community. Founded in 1952 by the Cherokee Historical Association, it
serves as an educational resource that preserves traditional Cherokee culture
and history. Visitors can experience guided tours, live craft
demonstrations, and cultural performances that showcase the daily life
and struggles of the Cherokee people during European colonization. The
village hosts an outdoor mini drama titled "A Time of War," depicting
the challenges faced by the Cherokee during European settlement.
Next, we’ll arrive at our home for the next three nights, The Cherokee
Super 8 Hotel right in the middle of Cherokee! This 100% non-
