A fun and friendly beginner tango class. New beginners are welcome every week. No partner required!
Everyone learns both roles (leading and following) in a supportive environment.
This week, class is followed by a special Palermo Fishtown Milonga featuring Juan Villarreal and Patricio Noé Crom Live by Livestream from Buenos Aires. Those of you who have experienced it will agree: when you hear them on the studio speakers and see them on the big screen, it's easy to imagine that they're really here with us in person!
8-9 pm: Beginner Tango Class
9 pm-midnight: Live Music by Livestream Palermo Fishtown Milonga (an all-levels Argentine tango social dance)
Cost:
Drop-in: $25
5-class card: $110
10-class card: $200
The class is free for students ages 30 and under. Just bring an ID to prove your age and sign up at the door, if you qualify for free entrance.
When we have live music, we ask that everyone please pay for the milonga, even if you have paid for the class. Sliding scale: $10-25. Thank you!
If you can't get to the studio, you can also sign up to watch / dance in your own home. (Livestream starts around 10:15 pm ET.) You can register at the same link and choose online attendance to get the link:
Please bring smooth-soled shoes to change into in the studio (i.e. shoes that allow you to pivot easily). If you don’t have anything that fits the bill, don’t worry! Dancing in socks works great! Or you can buy dance socks to put over any shoes.
