What we’re about
With the formation of the Universe and the myriad of realms including the physical world we currently live in, humanity have always seek to understand creation and the source of creation so that we can understand the roots and purpose of our existence which is innately important to us.
Across history, various civilisations and cultures have tried to name and define this Source Energy of Creation, often in the form of analogical human or deified figures. Tao Te Ching is the only scripture where Lao Tzu tried to explore and explain this Source Energy of Creation in its raw astronomical form, thus in Tao Seekers, we adopt the word “Tao” as the reference to this universal energy.
Whilst we use the term “Tao”, it is just a word for us to describe the Source Energy of Creation efficiently. There are no affiliations with any cultural or religious connotations with Taoism, Buddhism or any religion. We believe that Lao Tzu did not have the establishment of a religion in mind when he wrote the Tao Te Ching more than 2000 years ago, so does Jesus when he went about spreading the words of God.
The sutras and Bible are very good documentation of the conversations and accounts of the lives of these great spiritual practitioners who fully aligned themselves with Tao. Thus, we will drawing upon relevant teachings and wisdoms from Tao Te Ching, Bible, all other varying sutras and texts from other religions and cultural systems and mythologies in our topic presentations. We also welcome contributions from participants with diverse spiritual perspective in our discussions.
Tao Seekers’ Topic presentations will be surrounding the topics of spiritual origins, principles and some real-life experiences sharing on how we can practice spiritual cultivation in this modern socio-economical era, with the aim of aiding in our spiritual elevation and closer alignment to the Source Energy of Creation (Tao). The events will be fortnightly online presentations with the possibility of one actual in-person meetup session on the final event of a series, depending on attendance and demand. Events will be held on the first and 3rd Saturdays of every month from 7pm to 9pm. Events invitation and details will be provided in the event invites for every session within the series. Hope to see you all there.
