True Tao
Details
What is the True Tao?
Is Tao merely a Chinese religion, a cultural tradition, or a philosophy from ancient China? Or does the word “Tao” point to something far deeper — a universal source beyond name, form, culture, and belief?
In this introductory Tao Seeker session, we will explore the meaning of True Tao as the universal origin behind all existence — the nameless source described by Lao Tzu in Chapter 25 of the Tao Te Ching:
> “There was something amorphous, coming into existence before Heaven and Earth…
> I do not know its name, and I designate it by the term Dao.”
Over time, the word “Tao” has often become associated with Taoism as a religion, together with its cultural practices, rituals, symbols, and traditions. While these traditions have their own value, Tao Seeker invites us to look beyond the outer form and return to the original essence that Lao Tzu was pointing towards.
This session will ask:
What did Lao Tzu truly mean by Tao?
How is True Tao different from religious Taoism?
Can Tao be understood as the same universal truth that saints, sages, Buddhas, prophets, and spiritual teachers have pointed to throughout history?
What is the original intention behind spiritual teachings — worship, dependency, or awakening?
Through open reflection and discussion, we will explore how True Tao may sit beyond religious and cultural boundaries, while still resonating with the deeper essence of Buddhism, Christianity, Confucianism, Taoism, and other wisdom traditions.
This is not a session about rejecting religion. Rather, it is an invitation to seek the truth behind religion, the wisdom behind scripture, and the living Tao within ourselves.
Tao Seeker is a space for sincere spiritual exploration, open conversation, and personal cultivation. Whether you come from a religious background, a philosophical interest, or simply a curiosity about life, consciousness, and the source of existence, you are welcome to join us.
Together, we seek beyond form, beyond culture, beyond belief — and return to the True Tao within.
There are no limits to the number of people able to join.
