Stand strong in your power and manifest your destiny with the Emperor card

Details

Welcome! We meet via Zoom on the Third Thursday of every month.

Join us online to discuss the cards and learn about tarot symbology and archetypes. Over the next 22 months we'll take a look at the Thoth deck Major Arcana, beginning with the Fool and ending with the Universe card.

The Major Arcana shows the progress on the path of human evolution. Last month we discussed the Thoth deck Empress card, key 3, exploring the loving, nurturing, and creative aspects of the Divine Feminine, Universal Mother, and the supportive unconditional love of Mother Earth. This month, in sync with Father's Day, we'll discuss the energy of the Divine Masculine, Universal Father figure and the symbology of the Emperor card in the Major arcana.

The Emperor in the Thoth deck shows a majestic and mature character dressed in a stately costume. He sits on a crystal throne decorated with two giant male sheep heads that refer to initiation, determination, physical domination, and the sign of Aries. In the Thoth deck, Emperor is fiery red-orange, illuminated by an invisible light source, representing his great Will and deep passion. His head is turned to the right, always planning for the future. His crimson cloak is embroidered with gold symbols and he wears a royal crown embellished with crystals (clarity of mind).

In his right hand, he holds a scepter shaped like a lamb’s head. His left hand holds a sphere attached to a Maltese cross. His arms and head (from elbow to hairline) form an equilateral triangle, and his legs are crossed in a right-angled T-shape reminiscent of the Hanged Man. The Emperor's sitting posture also corresponds to the alchemical symbol for sulfur, which represents strong masculine energy. A lamb and the two eagles (seen in the Empress card) are resting at his feet. The Empress first creates the physical world and the Emperor rules it.

The Emperor card represents power, leadership, stability and structure. The sturdiness he conveys with his posture mimics the strength of a four-legged table, as befitting a king who is the builder and ruler of our worldly foundation. As the archetypical Father and male energy, he sows seeds and constructs new worlds. He rules his kingdom with strength and diplomacy. Like the fiery Aries ram symbol, the Emperor embodies great force and strong will. He stands for order, opposing chaos with determination, overseeing and controlling his destiny with firm boundaries and well-informed decisions. As long as his equally strong ego doesn't get in the way... watch out for controlling, overbearing tendencies!

When Emperor appears in a reading, take time to assess all aspects of a situation before taking action. Make a plan and stick to it. Take measured, practical steps towards a goal, standing up for yourself while manifesting the future you want to build.

I'll send the Zoom login details via Meetup about an hour before the event starts on Thursday. RSVP to this event or send me a private message to get the link.

Please have your favorite tarot deck handy (if you have one), a journal, and a pen to take notes. And a lovely cup of tea, if you'd like.

As always, a $5.00 contribution is appreciated to help us cover the costs of this meetup. However, no one is turned away for lack of funds. I'll provide details for paying via Venmo or PayPal.

See you online!
