Welcome! We meet via Zoom on the Third Thursday of every month.

Join us online to discuss the cards and learn about tarot symbology and archetypes. Over the next 22 months we'll take a look at the Thoth deck Major Arcana, beginning with the Fool and ending with the Universe card.

The Major Arcana shows the progress on the path of human evolution. Last month we studied the Thoth deck Lust card, key 11, (called Strength in some decks), and discussed the balance between earthly and spiritual desires, and how love conquers fear. This month, we'll discuss the Hanged Man card, key 12, and explore voluntary surrender to achieve spiritual transformation, and the cycle of life, death, and rebirth.

In the Thoth deck, the Hanged Man is suspended from an Ankh symbol, connected by a snake coiled around his left ankle. Typically actions in the tarot are initiated with the right side, so this indicates that the Hanged Man is hung while in a state of introspection. He hangs his head downward into the sea of the subconscious, a form of baptism, an initiation into deeper Spiritual knowledge. He experiences a metaphysical death of his ego in order to achieve a higher state of consciousness. Hanged Man will continue his organic transformation when he moves into the next card, Death (key 13).

Hanged Man archetype invites you to take a moment of pause, assess what's happening, observe life subjectively, and practice patience as you open yourself up to see new perspectives. Embrace changes and shift your views on life to align with your higher purpose. Sacrifice leads to salvation. But watch out for situations where you inhabit the role of a martyr. The Fool's journey is defined by living authentically and following free Will.

Pisces (the 12th sign in the zodiac) and the planet Neptune are associated with the Hanged Man card. This archetype symbolizes intuition, mysticism, transformative dreams, and spiritual insight. With discipline, adopting new ways of looking at things, and a sincere openness to change brings clarity to life's situations. By turning things upside down, you gain deep wisdom and discover hidden opportunities.

I'll send the Zoom login details via Meetup about an hour before the event starts on Thursday. RSVP to this event or send me a private message to get the link.

Please have your favorite tarot deck handy (if you have one), a journal, and a pen to take notes. And a lovely cup of tea, if you'd like.

A $10.00 contribution is appreciated to help cover the costs of this meetup. However, no one is turned away for lack of funds. I'll provide details for paying via Venmo or PayPal.

See you online!
