Seek harmony within conflict with the Art card

Welcome! We meet via Zoom on the Third Thursday of every month.

Join us online to discuss the cards and learn about tarot symbology and archetypes. Over the next 22 months we'll take a look at the Thoth deck Major Arcana, beginning with the Fool and ending with the Universe card.

The Major Arcana shows the progress on the path of human evolution. Last month we studied the Thoth deck Death card, key 13, and discussed the dual nature of death as both the end and the beginning. This month, we'll discuss the Art card, key 14, and explore how to avoid extremes and manage opposing forces to create balance.

The Art card represents the consummation of the royal marriage of the King and Queen shown in the Lover's Card (key 6). The unification of opposing forces results in a combined whole that's much stronger than either part. It is an alchemical and symbolic marriage wedding the aspects of fire and water, sulfur and mercury, masculine and feminine energies.

Art signifies healing and recovery. It represents the reunification process of integrating what was destroyed in the Death card (key 13). Living artfully is a creative act that understands life's cycle of destruction and renewal. Like the phrase Solve et coagula, it's a continual process of dissolving and bonding: combining what has disintegrated
at a much higher, more refined level.

Consider what tensions currently exist in your life… and explore how these issues can be moderated, resolved, and integrated to bring wholeness.
