Axum Ethiopian Cuisine is a restaurant located on the North side of Chicago. It’s a long time Ethiopian restaurant that we have not been too! Come out and try this restaurant! It is in a relatively new location (the old Ras Dashen).

There is easy street parking. The food will be excellent! It is a vegan healthy and individually home-cooked type food. Our menu is a good cross-section of what they offer!

Yes, it is all vegan. All for the price of $22. Yes, TAX AND TIP are INCLUDED! We collect cash at the door. Exact change is always appreciated. Don’t worry, it says unpaid next to everyone’s name. You just can’t see it.

We will meet at 7 PM and have a social time until 7:30 PM to mingle with your fellow foodies. It is a CASH bar. Please plan to arrive around 7 PM so we can collect and start on time. Please do not come starving in case we do run a little late.

The food will be served buffet-style.

The menu will consist of the following items.
The appetizer is:
Veggie Sambusa

The salads are:
House Salad
Keyser Atkelet (red beet salad with a tangy dressing)

The entrees are:
Yemisir Wot (red lentils in rich berbere sauce)
Kik Wot (special lentil peas)
Defen Meser (lentils stewed in a rich berbere sauce with Ethiopian spices)
Gomen (Collared greens cooked with mild spices)
Tikel Gomen (Cabbage, Potato, Carrots)
Kik Alicha (puréed yellow split peas, garlic, onions, ginger, green peppers)
Shiro (roasted chickpeas stewed with onions and garlic)
Fossolia (string beans with carrots and sautéed onions)
Quosta (fresh spinach cooked with onions, garlic and Ethiopian spices)

Tea and Water

Injera Bread (a limited amount of Gluten free Injera may also be available for $3.00 extra per piece - must be ordered in advance - please note in the COMMENTS of your RSVP that you are going to buy GF injera).
