Lundie Crags and the James Mackenzie Monument
This is a lovely walk along Lundie Crags. It's a bit of a mixture of the two walks in links below. Dogs welcome, I'll have my labradoodle Lola with me. Bring lunch! Poss drink at Birkhill Inn after. https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/angus/lundie-craigs.shtml https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=36488

What we're about

Public Group

We are a group of individuals in their 20s, 30s and 40s who have come together to share our passion for the outdoors and hillwalking. Whether you are a complete beginner to hill walking, an experienced walker wanting to share your knowledge or just someone looking to meet new friends, we have something for everyone!

Tayside Young Walkers are part of Ramblers Scotland, a charity who aim to promote walking through out Scotland.

We have a great group of organisers who not only organise hillwalking meets but a wide variety of social events too! So if you are looking to have fun, get fit, enjoy a wide range of social activities with a laid back, friendly and welcoming bunch of people, then this is the ideal group for you!

Membership

This is a Ramblers group and as such we ask people who wish to walk with the group regularly to join as a member. Membership costs around £34 a year and there are lots of great benefits including discounts to our annual glencoe weekend! New people to the group can come along up to three times before deciding if they want to join. Please let us know if you are already a member.

You can join online by visiting Ramblers Scotland page @ https://www.ramblers.org.uk/become-a-member/join-us.aspx

Safety

Please note: All members should take responsibility for their own well being and safety while on the walks Our event organisers are however, very experienced and confident walkers and will ensure that any/all accidents are prevented where possible.

All members attending any hill walks should have a good pair of walking boots, waterproofs, rucksack and warm layers as a minimum unless otherwise stated by the walk organiser. The weather in Scotland is highly unpredictable and you should come prepared for all weather conditions even if it is sunny at the start of the day! Please do not come dressed in Jeans, trainers or other inappropriate clothing as you may be not be allowed on the walk especially if it is a potential risk to the group.

No shows/wait list

Due to a large amount of no shows and people missing out on walks because they are on the wait list, we have decided to give paid members priority and if you have never been on one of our walks and/or had contact with us, we will give your place to a paid member and you will be placed back on the wait list.

Photographs

Photographs which are published on Meetup may be used on Social Media sites and for Marketing purposes so if you are uncomfortable with this, please ensure you get in touch with one of the organisers.

We hope to see you on an event soon!
