December Special: Giving back as a developer

Details

Please join us for this special December event! This year we are turning our usual holiday themed gathering into an opportunity to give back. We will hear from some generous speakers how they are giving back to their communities and how you, as a developer and techie, can too.

Hear about 5 different technical volunteerism roles:

  • Participate in coding challenges for greater good with Humanitarian Toolbox, given by founder and chairman Richard Campbell [http://www.htbox.org]
  • Take on digital waste, skill building, and education all at the same time with Twin Cities Free Geek [https://www.freegeektwincities.org]
  • Becoming a webmaster or providing technical guidance for recreational and community clubs, in this case the citizen scientist enthusiast group for fungi, Minnesota Mycological Society (MMS) [https://minnesotamycologicalsociety.org] and North American Mycological Association (NAMA) [https://namyco.org] with webmaster Jane Onorati and support Steve Widstrand
  • Mentoring local youth in developing technical skills and curiosity through Twin Cities Coder Dojo with representative and organizer, Marie Gottschalk [https://www.coderdojotc.org]
  • Contributing to mature open source projects like Roslyn with Abraham Hosch [https://github.com/dotnet/roslyn ]

You can help make 2021 a better year by already using the talents and abilities you have. Join us in this session to learn more.

Please attend for a chance to win licenses from our partners at JetBrains and OzCode!
