Claude for Developers
Details
This session starts with a plain-language look at what an LLM is, so everyone has a shared foundation before we get into the tools.
Next, we'll tour the ways to use Claude: the desktop app, the VS Code extension, and the terminal, which is where most of the work happens. From there, we'll cover skills, including what they are, how to create them, and how they change Claude's output. We'll also look at custom commands and plugins.
Then we'll move on to agents, covering what an agent is and how a team of agents can split up work. We'll close by extending Claude with outside tools, using Tavily for web search as our example.
Please attend for a chance to win a license from our partners at JetBrains.
This will be an online-only event - with the link below!
We'll start at 5:30 PM CST, but feel free to grab a beverage and join a bit earlier!
Speaker: Mike Emo
Mike is a software engineer with more than 25 years of experience building with .NET, React, Node.js, Azure, and GCP. In 2012 he became an independent contractor and has since worked with companies large and small across the US.
In 2018 he co-founded Tonka Source, a technology recruiting firm in Hopkins, MN that places software engineers and IT professionals, so he sees how teams build software and how they hire the people who build it.
Mike has been using AI-assisted development with Claude for Tonka Source for some time and is looking forward to sharing what he's learned with the group.
