We encourage our members to be actively involved in this group. Whether you can offer tips and techniques, or you are just learning how to use your brand new camera, we want to welcome you to this group. We encourage you to share your ideas, suggest possible future shoots, and express your creativity. Members of this group should be thirsty for photographic knowledge and have a desire to practice and apply the tips and techniques you have learned.

Let's have some fun! This group is for active photographers! Learning and sharing is a key part to this group as well as just gathering to enjoy photography.

This group is for people who love photography. We welcome all experience levels, digital or film, point and shoot or SLR. While most members have SLR cameras, our P&S users will love to pick up some tips, enjoy photographic trips, and photo excursions as well.

We offer a variety of meetups, photo expeditions, exhibits, demonstrations, and educational & training workshops for a variety of experience levels and areas of photography and photo editing. There is no annual meetup fee however, meetups generally range from $1 to $5 pp to cover meetup dues and any materials needed for such meetups. We hold one monthly meetup each month to discuss our group, upcoming meetups, show & tell, photo critiquing, suggestions for future meetups, photo themes, Q&A session, and try to offer a mini demonstration or training session when possible. Workshops are offered in all areas of photography such as camera functions, flash and speedlights, studio work & studio lights, photo editing.....and more! Workshop prices vary, however we offer highly discounted and very affordable rates.

Hancock Shaker Village

Hancock Shaker Village

A living-history museum devoted to the inspiring Shakers, with 20 authentic buildings, a working farm and gardens, and a collection of 20,000+ artifacts. The beautifully restored and walkable 10 acre Village is set amid 750 acres of farm, woodland, hiking trails, and pasture. The world-famous Round Stone Barn is a testament to Shaker efficiency, innovation and design. The historic buildings at Hancock Shaker Village house authentic Shaker furniture and artifacts.

Learn about Shaker religious beliefs and communal living, traditional farming, gardening and herb production, and other fascinating aspects of the Shaker story from museum educators, some dressed as 1830s Shakers.

Hours are 10 am to 5 pm
Tickets: $20 ($18 for Seniors, AAA members, MTA cardholders, and active and retired U.S. Military)

Village Cafe open daily from 10 am to 4 pm serves lunch and snacks. Enjoy salads, sandwiches and SoCo ice cream!

Photography, or video, is allowable anywhere in the Village. Tripods are not allowed inside historic buildings, however. If you wish to take images for advertising, exhibition or publication, contact the Director of Marketing in advance of your visit.

There will be no theme - enter YOUR BEST SHOT!

Rules:

1. You must be a fairly active member, meaning you aren't coming out of the woodwork just to win a prize. You must have attended at least 2 meetups in the past year, or have at least participated in monthly photo challenges. If you are an active group member on facebook sharing photos and leaving comments, this will qualify you. We have many group members from all over who participate but are not able to physically attend.

**hint hint wink wink....I'm giving an advance notice for inactive members to get a bit more active in the coming weeks ;)

2. Photo must be no older than 1 year at the time of entry.

3. There will be an entry fee of $5 per photo. There will be an entry form (coming soon).

4. Photo must be printed and available for display on exhibit.

***Since we have so many members who may be participating from other states/countries, please contact Angela directly to make arrangements for your image to be printed & displayed.
