Join CAA to serve a vegan lunch at Simpson Housing Services! Simpson provides shelter to around seventy unhoused people each night, and partners with community groups to prepare meals for shelter residents. This is a wonderful way to care for our Minnesota community in an animal-friendly, eco-friendly way.

Please sign up at the link above to receive the address and other information to prepare for the event. We will gather at 10:00am and together, we’ll cook lunch in the kitchen, and then serve the meal to residents. Once food service comes to a lull, we will take breaks in small shifts to join the residents for lunch. Afterwards, we’ll tidy up, and everything should be finished by 1:00pm.

CAA provides a meal for Simpson guests every month. Watch this space for another opportunity to participate!

Other Notes:

• Please dress comfortably, with closed-toe shoes.
• We expect to serve about 30 residents.
• Please keep in mind that this is a community service event. While we may explain more about CAA’s work or veganism if residents ask, it is not an outreach event.

Join us for a fun and impactful special edition of our monthly West Suburbs Vegan Potluck—this time on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at 6:30pm at Unmapped Brewing Co. in Minnetonka! This month’s gathering is extra meaningful: we’re combining our potluck with Unmapped’s Pint Night fundraiser and a food drive to support CAA’s vegan meal program at Simpson Housing Services.

Whether you’re a long-time vegan or just curious about plant-based eating, this is a great opportunity to meet others, share a delicious meal, and support a good cause—all at once!

New Day: We’re meeting on Tuesday instead of Thursday to line up with Unmapped’s “Pint Night.”

Fundraiser: For every pint of beer sold between 6–10pm, Unmapped will donate $1 to CAA’s vegan meal program at Simpson Housing Services.

Food Drive: Unmapped is also hosting a vegan can drive all week! Bring plant-based canned goods like beans, chickpeas, or tomatoes to help us provide hearty, plant-based meals.

Please bring a fully plant-based dish to share—no meat, dairy, eggs, or fish. Please include a list of ingredients for those with allergies or sensitivities. We encourage you to bring your own plate and utensils to help reduce waste. Also consider bringing vegan canned goods to support our meal program for unhoused residents at Simpson Housing.

Come to the Base Camp coffee shop area of Unmapped Brewing Co. in Minnetonka from 6:30pm. All are welcome regardless of where you are on your vegan journey.

• Please bring a dish to share and the list of ingredients.
• If possible please bring a plate & utensils.
