This month’s Tech Lancaster will not have talks (speakers are preparing for CPOSC!) Instead we will be doing Lean Coffee.

Lean Coffee is an agenda-less meetup. There are no speakers, the attendees get to shape the discussion. Come with questions, topics, interests, or just an open mind. We'll gather all the ideas and decide as a group where to start first, and we'll meander through the rest as the mood suits. It's always an enjoyable evening, you never know where we'll end up!

What is it?
Pub Standards Lancaster is a monthly meetup of developers, designers, founders and people-who-like-to-build-stuff in central Pennsylvania.

Pub Standards is open to everyone. It's loosely aimed at web design & development geeks, but that doesn't mean chitchat need necessarily be work-related. Don't expect structure, don't expect presentations, just relax with likeminded people and a few beers.

Do People Show Up[?
Yes! Typically Pub Standards has between 8-16 people who attend. We usually coordinate using a combination of our monthly email list, Slack group, and Meetup.com.

Where?
Tellus360 on the first block of East King. Come up the stairs to the second floor and turn the corner - we'll be across from the bar at the community table. If the weather is great we'll migrate up to the roof deck (but we'll post on slack/twitter first!).

Rob Hudson - Children and Home Tech Policy
As a parent in today's world of connected technology, I struggle with how to protect my children from potential predators, privacy violations, and disturbing content, while teaching them about the world and providing them with safe access to information, entertainment, and connected experiences. In this talk, I'll describe the "threat model" as I see it, my particular challenges, how I've used a mix of technology and policy to address those, and what questions still remain. Then I'll open the session for discussion, questions, and suggestions

Nathaniel Evry - Building a Relationship with AI: Treating Language Models Like Characters
In this talk, we'll explore the idea of developing a rapport with large language models, treating them less like machines and more like characters in a favorite sitcom. We'll discuss the benefits of communicating with AI in a respectful and collaborative way, rather than trying to enslave them or their efforts. By building a pseudo-personality and working alongside language models, we can unlock new levels of creativity and productivity, while also contributing to the ethical development of AI.
