Omnideck, an open source AI studio that doesn't forget

An agent can write you a useful tool in thirty seconds. Keeping that tool alive until Monday, wired to live credentials, and locked out of root on your laptop is the actual engineering problem. Almost nobody is working on it. The industry shipped a good text box and called it a product.

omnideck is what we built instead. It's an open source, local-first studio where what you ask for becomes a real artifact, one that persists, re-runs, and stays inside a boundary you control. Building it meant answering questions that don't fit on a launch slide. Where does agent-generated code actually execute? Who holds the tokens, and how do you give an agent access without giving it the keys? What counts as the unit of isolation when one person runs work for four clients on one machine? Then there's model choice, which we settled per agent rather than betting the whole system on a single vendor.

Ron walks through the architecture behind those answers. The runtime, the deck model, container sandboxing, the credential broker, sub-agents, and more. Then the slides close and he builds something live. You can too.
