June 2017 Meetup (Zell & Acquisitions)

In this is meetup we will host the Zell Startup Competition and have a keynote about building startups for a successful exit.

The 2017 Zell Startup Competition

For the fourth time, TechAviv is honored to host the startup competition of Zell Entrepreneurship Program (http://portal.idc.ac.il/en/Zell/Welcome/Pages/Home.aspx), the most successful startups program in Israel which produced over 100 ventures in 16 years. Nine startups will be coming to California to compete for your vote to be crowned the 2017 Zell Most Promising Startup. Past winners went on to great success including Wibiya, Gifts Project, Bizzabo, Wibbitz, and Roomer. Our last year winner, Astralink, just raised (http://www.geektime.co.il/astralink-raised-1m/) their institutional round.

Finding the way to the exit - acquisitions from the buyer's perspective

Eldad Persky (https://www.linkedin.com/in/epersky/) has been involved in seven acquisitions - three times on the side of the company being acquired and four times on the acquirer side. He is now working on the merger between Yahoo and AOL which is scheduled to close soon.

Eldad will share insights, tips, and guidelines for building a startup with an acquisition in mind, making sure you're found by the right acquirer, and finally getting to the acquisition finish line. He will also present a detailed play-by-play story of one of the latest startup acquisitions he has led for AOL / Verizon.
