In this meetup, we will host Yoni Cohen-Idov, the world champion in debate, and WEACT, the Israeli women entrepreneurs mission to Silicon Valley.

Tips from a champion: How To Get Your Message Across?

Yoni Cohen-Idov (wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yoni_Cohen-Idov)) is formerly a two-time world debating champion, both as a speaker (2010) and as a debating coach (2012). He is the Head-Coach for the national Israeli debating team and the founder of the national schools debate program. Yoni directs, trains and adjudicates in debating events around the world, and consults companies and public figures on message conveyance.

In his talk, Yoni shows how to apply his methods day-to-day, in order to:

• Find the most relevant and effective message in any given situation (be it an investors pitch, discussion at work, or personal conversation)

• Convey the message clearly and persuasively

• Preempt misunderstandings, avoid unnecessary conflict, and productively engage with opposition

• Become overall better communicators using a couple of simple concepts.

WEACT: Israeli women entrepreneurs showcase

For the second year in a row, we are proud to host WEACT, The Israeli Women Entrepreneurs' Mission to the Silicon Valley (https://www.themarker.com/career/1.4234414), led by Darya Henig-Shaked (https://www.themarker.com/techblogs/hastartupistiot/1.4447807).
12 Israeli women founders, who were selected from hundreds of applications, are coming to the bay area to engage with the local ecosystem. Several of these entrepreneurs will be presenting and discussing their startups in our meetup - getting feedback, ideas, and assistance from the TechAviv's founders community.

Presenting founders:

• Limor BH Epstein (https://www.linkedin.com/in/limorbh/), co-founder and CEO of Data2Life (http://data2life.com/) which applies machine learning to empower the utilization of the diverse big data in healthcare. The company raised $4M and sells its product to top 20 pharma companies.

• Shimrit Tzur-David (Ph.D.) (https://www.linkedin.com/in/shimrit-tzur-david-7129b34/), co-founder and CTO of Secret Double Octopus (https://doubleoctopus.com/) which replaces key and password with effective and efficient authentication based on a mathematically unbreakable algorithm, originally developed to protect nuclear launch codes. • Liron Slonimsky Shemy (https://www.linkedin.com/in/liron-slonimsky-0aba3240/), founder and CEO of Awear Solutions (http://www.awearsolutions.com/), the "Frequent Flyer Program for Fashion”. The company, which raised $1.4M, is harnessing the power of IoT and big data analytics so brands can communicate, engage and reward their consumers in real-time.
