Venue:

We will be meeting in the large industrial style office space of Quid. This is a professional work space with an area for networking as well as seating for the tech talk. There will be extra standing room in back. This event will kick off at 6pm and the presentations will begin at 6:45pm. Please be mindful of your arrival time. See schedule below.

We will have our Tech in Motion Crew guiding our members to Quid's floor in the building. Pick up a name tag on the ground floor at our sign in table. Our name tags are color coded for networking purposes. Red: You love to Network and want to meet new professional contacts. Blue: You're looking for a new career path in the tech industry as a top tech engineer. White: You're a hiring manager, CEO, or working to fill a position in the tech industry.

About Our Speakers

Joey Hobbs

Joey was raised in the rural far north of New Zealand. As the son of a carpenter and an artist, Joey inherited a creativity and pragmatism that had him making furniture, illustrations, music and computer games from an early age. A passion for innovating lead him into Software Engineering as a discipline and working with several Internet Startups. Joey is currently building a next generation web-based data visualization platform with the team at Quid.

Alex Salkever

Alex Salkever, is the Head of Marketing at Silk.co (http://www.silk.co/). Silk is a leading data publisher, data visualization and data analysis platform used by major publications, NGOs, and businesses. Silk allows anyone to convert a spreadsheet into rich interactive visuations, maps, charts, galleries and more with only a few clicks and no technical skills. Previoiusly, Alex served as the Technology Editor at BusinessWeek.com for four years. He has published articles in dozens of national publications. Alex is a data geek who has directed marketing programs for leading venture-backed cloud computing (Joyent) and greentech companies (Picarro), and has served as a cloud computing product lead at one of the world’s largest telcos (Telefónica). His favorite data to track and analyze is wave buoy readings off nearby surf beaches.

Mikko Järvenpää

Mikko Järvenpää is the COO of Infogram (https://infogr.am/) and has been an adviser with the company since the start. Earlier he was a Product Marketing Manager with Google in London, co-founded the human-centric consulting company Gemic in Helsinki, served as the Chief Marketing Geek for HackFwd, and co-founded the video startup Vuact.
