Intro to React Native
with Lawson Kurtz: Software Engineer at Viget Labs
React Native is an exciting new tool for building native applications using a language you may already know well: JavaScript. (It's worth noting that React Native is fundamentally different from tools like Cordova. React Native apps use truly native APIs and UI components which means your apps feel and work like any other traditional native app.) This is exciting because it opens new doors for experimentation across platforms without having to learn entire new languages and development ecosystems. In fact you can learn what you need to get started in just an evening!
This is an interactive workshop. You're strongly encouraged (but never required!) to bring a laptop if you have one available. If you don't have a computer with you, try to sit next to someone who does so you can follow along.
Schedule: 5:30-6:00pm: Arrive at CA; Grab some food & network
6:30-8pm: React Native Workshop
8:10-8:20pm: Cleanup
We'll provide food. If you have dietary restrictions, please comment below or email rylee.k@gmail.com so that we can make accommodations.
Also, for all RSVPs, if your plans change, PLEASE update your RSVP so our volunteer organizers can plan accordingly.
