iOS Study Group (week 5 of 6)

Details

Come and learn to make iOS apps in Objective-C! This will be a consecutive 6 week mini-class on making iOS apps. Dinner will be provided!

We will work as a group to make a very simple app, where you will learn not only Objective-C and iOS, but many important programming concepts. All levels of coders are welcome to attend.

All lessons, examples, and code will be posted to our group GitHub account: https://github.com/iosstudygroup

We also have a Google Group: https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups=#!forum/ios-study-group

This is week 1 and we will learn Xcode, a little Objective-C, and basic app architecture.

Schedule:

6:30 - 7:15 Dinner

7:15 - 9:00 Group Coding

9:00 - 9:30 Questions

What to do beforehand?

You will need a Mac computer running OSX 10.6.8 or later. Please install Xcode from the Mac App Store before you arrive! It is a very large program and will take some time to download.

If you do not have a Mac, please let us know in your RSVP so we can try to pair women together.

Location: TBA

As with all Women Who Code events, this event is open only to those who identify as a woman. Women Who Code is emphatically trans- and queer-friendly.
