Details
GraalVM is a universal virtual machine for running applications written in JavaScript, Python, Ruby, R, JVM-based languages like Java, Scala, Kotlin, Clojure, and LLVM-based languages such as C and C++. GraalVM removes the isolation between programming languages and enables interoperability in a shared runtime. It can run either standalone or in the context of OpenJDK, Node.js, Oracle Database, or MySQL.

About speaker:
Julia Kindelsberger is a Program Manager at Oracle Labs. This position entails managing several related projects with the intention of improving the organization's performance. Julia's research interests include large graph visualization techniques, large graph exploration and (visual) graph construction. She joined Oracle Labs as a researched focused software engineer for PGX and Data Studio. Previously she obtained her Software Engineering degree from the Technical University of Munich in Germany. She wrote her thesis at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in a human-centered artificial intelligence lab. Her research focused on human-machine interaction in semi-autonomous vehicles.
