Do you want to write a novel, but feel overwhelmed by the idea of starting? Are you convinced you'll never finish a novel because [insert a multitude of personal reasons]? This workshop will help you develop a plan for starting and finishing your novel. It will also give you a strategy for soaring beyond that plan.

Bring your favorite writing implements, whether it's a charged laptop or pen and paper. Please also bring a copy of one of your favorite books.

Hosted by our Writer-in-Residence, M. Kate Allen. M. Kate Allen is the award-winning author of numerous books, essays, short stories, and poems. She writes the Sticky Ones series, a series of spooky, standalone books for middle readers. Some of her other works include Memory Stands (adult fiction), Playing Gauche (YA fiction), and The Thean Psalter.

Herb gardening in Maricopa County can be tricky if you don't know which seasons to grow which herbs. Master Gardener Peggie Crichton will show you which herbs you should be planting for the upcoming fall and winter, when and how you should plant them, as well as how to care for them.

After the presentation, Peggie will be available from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to answer your gardening questions and offer expert advice.

University of Arizona Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners are certified volunteers who answer questions about gardening, landscaping, plant identification, and plant problems.

Calling all weirdos! Do you like stories that are a little weird? Or maybe just a little different? Then this is the group for you! We are focused on stories that have a unique aspect, making them non-traditional or unique, which makes us a little weird.
