What we’re about
Join us in Terenure for our monthly book club where neighbours from Terenure/Rathgar/Rathfarnham/Rathmines gather to chat about the books that have captured our imaginations. It's not just about reading; it's like meeting friends from down the road to share our love for literature over drink.
We read a diverse range of fiction, from international translations to works of Dublin-based authors.
I try to choose books that will ignite interesting discussions.
My final criterion for book selection is to actively support living authors and their continuous literary contributions, even if it only through the modest royalties they earn when I/we borrow their books from the library.
There is normally just one large group discussion and expect spoilers if you haven't finished the book in time!
Polite request: if you wish to attend please RSVP so I have an idea of the expected headcount. If you can no longer attend please amend your RSVP. Persistent no-showers will be removed from the group.
We also attend literary events from time to time. If you wish to attend our events, we'd encourage you to attend one of our Terenure book discussions first, in order to be able to recognise the group.
