What we’re about

A local meditation community in Edinburgh for people of all faiths or none.
We offer monthly Sunday evening in-person meditation and discussions at The Salisbury Centre, plus online meditation and discussion groups throughout the month.
We also host a range of special events and retreats in Edinburgh and online.

Tergar meditation groups are based on The Joy of Living Programme. They feature three main activities:
guided meditation,
group discussion,
short presentations on the key points of meditation practice.
The Joy of Living curriculum covers a broad range of topics and practices, but focuses particular attention on the practice of awareness meditation. Other practices are also addressed, including basic goodness, the essential elements of meditation practice, and loving–kindness and compassion.

Tergar meditation group is part of Tergar International. We are connected to many other local Joy Of Living groups around the world. Each group is based on the teachings of Mingyur Rinpoche. Although rooted in his lineage of Tibetan Buddhism, the group is non-religious and open to people of all faiths and none.
