What we’re about
This group is open to anyone interested in learning about and practicing awareness meditation. Each meeting includes some basic instructions and guided meditation. This approach, based on the accessible teachings in The Joy of Living: Unlocking the Secret and Science of Happiness, by Yongey Mingyur Rinpoche, focuses on using our daily lives and the challenges we face to cultivate a peaceful mind and open heart. Awareness meditation draws on the wisdom of ancient meditation traditions as well as neuroscience to train the mind to be calm, focused, attentive, flexible, and efficient.
