Teszt & Tea - HUSTEF 2018 Special Edition

Details
This year's HUSTEF is almost here and of course we are going to have another Special Edition of our meetup to celebrate it!
If you cannot attend HUSTEF this year but would like to feel its atmosphere then join us with our keynote speakers. If you are already there on the Tutorial Day, then why not stay and get some more insights from Harry Sneed in how testing was brought to Hungary? Gwen Stewart is going to talk about her experience in settiing up automation on number of different projects.
We will be there in the Várkert Bazár! Are you?
Agenda:
-
Harry Sneed (SORING REENGINEERING) - How testing came to Hungary
Software Testing came to Hungary 40 years ago. In the spring of 1978. Harry Sneed came to Budapest with a proposal from Siemens to test the software of the Integrated Transport System for the German railroads. The Siemens department responsible for developing the software wanted to make unit testing of the several hundred SPL modules but lacked the necessary capacity and know-how to do it themselves. Harry Sneed suggested to them that they outsource the testing to Hungary. The Hungarian computer institutes SZAMOK and Szki were interested in the project and Siemens was prepared to pay for the service but not on a time and material basis. A solution had to be found as to how to charge the test service. It is a question which is still relevant to this day. -
Gwen Stewart (BBC) - Does one size fit all in test automation?
The talk is about Gwen's experience with implementing different automation strategies at a number of different companies. Lessons learnt from that process and hopefully useful take aways for anyone on that journey.
