- Texpats Holiday Happy Hour at Winter VillageBank of America Winter Village at Bryant Park, New York, NY
It's the most wonderful time of the year.
Join fellow Texpats in the heart of the city for a festive happy hour at Winter Village in Bryant Park. Leave behind the hustle of city life at this après-skate escape where we'll cozy up with seasonal cocktails and watch ice skaters fall down.
We'll meet at the central bar inside The Lodge with its views of The Rink and the Christmas Tree, and filled with eating and drinking options to satisfy your appetite and quench the thirst you worked up from the triple axels you were throwing on the ice.
This enclosed space has a variety of eateries that flank a fully stocked cocktail bar ready to pour you something strong enough to help you forget you didn’t actually stick all those landings.
When you’re finally full and maybe a little tipsy, take a stroll through the European inspired open air holiday market and tackle your Christmas shopping.
Whether you're reminiscing about the wide-open spaces of Texas or just enjoying the ambiance of Bryant Park, this will be a delightful way to celebrate the unique Texan spirit that continues to thrive in the Big Apple.

- Texpats Happy Hour at Cowgirl SeahorseCowgirl SeaHorse, New York, NY
It's time for another famous Texpats happy hour! This time we'll meet after work at Cowgirl Seahorse on Tuesday, January 23.
It's cold here in the city and we could all use a cozy place on a cobblestone street to warm up and enjoy adult beverages. Come tell us how your holidays went and all about the Texas family drama. Maybe include a New Year's Resolution or two.
Join us for a Texas-style happy hour at Cowgirl Seahorse, a Seaport spot that blends vintage authenticity with light-hearted kitsch in an inimitable mix. Their Southern home cooking is inspired by the many cuisines of the region: the barbeque of Texas, the seafood of the Gulf Coast, Tex-Mex classics, Cajun delicacies, and Southern-fried delights.
We'll start arriving at 6:00 PM and have ourselves a great evening.
Special thanks to new Texpat and friend Meghan W. for turning me on to this place!

- Texpats Brunch at Sweet ChickSweet Chick, New York, NY
The best brunch is a Texpats brunch.
Join us at a New York southern institution: Sweet Chick in the Lower East Side. This rustic-chic eatery with American comfort food specializes in fried chicken and waffles, but it's not a one trick pony. There's a full menu of simple, yet well executed Southern eats, a fun cocktail list, and great selection of local beer on tap.
Other popular dishes include their signature buttermilk biscuit breakfast sandwiches, crispy chicken sandwiches, fresh market salads, and their signature maple lemonades.
It's the kind of southern spot we gravitate toward, with an unpretentious vibe, good people, and a communal atmosphere.
We'll get started around noon at the dining room picnic table. Look for the Texpats table sign.

It's time we revisit the best Tex-Mex in town.
And what better way to celebrate the start of spring than with a Tex-Mex happy hour at Javelina? Let's check out their more recent Upper East Side location (see below for map).
Some of you may remember the private, pre-launch menu tasting we had with owner & fellow Texpat Matt Post before they opened. Well, the place now has two locations (Gramercy and UES), and they have some of the best Tex-Mex in the city.
