What we’re about

Welcome Wizarding, Fantasy and Magical folks!

We are The Urban Wizards Social Club, formerly Harry Potter NYC / HP-NYC . We were the largest HP fan club in the world with over 4000 members, and we formed an active and vibrant community around these stories.

We at Urban Wizards Social Club fully condemn the words and actions of J.K. Rowling that harm the trans, gender nonconforming, intersex, other queer identities, and all other marginalized communities. We acknowledge not only the cultural impact, but also the personal importance of the Wizarding World she created for so many of our members. In the 15+ years that our group has been active, our members have formed countless bonds and friendships, and we refuse to give that up. As such, we continue to gather exactly as we are, but with a new name: as members of The Urban Wizards Social Club!

At UWSC, we build camaraderie around our shared passions for all things related to multiple fandoms, and we show all HP fans that there is still a home for them, no matter who they are.

We have a wide range of events and activities that are as diverse as the interests of our members, and we are always open to new ideas on how we can gather and keep building our community!
