[Fwd: Meetup Message from Richard Newell: Please forward to SFLP meetup group ASAP]

For those of you who want to attend the LP state convention in Visalia,
this is a reminder that the price for the convention packages goes up
after today, April 9. A couple of notes:

1) Please do not let the cost of the convention deter you from
attending as a delegate. Nothing in the bylaws authorizes this $99
"business-only" fee, so if you've met the requirements on this page -- -- you get a vote as
a delegate. Period. Regardless of whether you pay an additional fee to
attend the convention. If anyone tries to refuse to seat you as a
delegate after meeting those requirements, I'll personally make the
motion to seat you as a delegate. (Note: This does not apply to those
who don't qualify as delegates and want to attend meetings as a
non-voting observer. In that case, the definition of a delegate in the
bylaws does not allow you to get in for free. And if you can afford the
$99, please pay it. I did. There need to be enough of us paying
delegates to make up a majority vote to seat the non-paying ones.)

2) The Holiday Inn Visalia's "Internet Rate" (the rate you get when you
reserve online) is the same price or cheaper than the LPC "negotiated"
rate (same $99 for a regular room, and actually $10 cheaper -- $129 vs
$139 -- for a suite).

But if you were planning to get any of the meal packages with your
registration, you should do so by today. FWIW, I got the "business
only" package and will be dining with others outside the convention.

Richard Newell sent you this message from The San Francisco
Libertarian Party Meetup Group on Meetup:

Please paste the following message into the meetup group email
members form:
Subject: Last Chance for LP-of-CA Early-Bird Convention Rates!

Please attend the Libertarian Party of California annual
convention, to be held April 24-26 in Visalia, CA. See these
links for additional information including a list of most of
the 14 speakers expected to present talks or workshops:

[url= website

Convention Registration

Both the room rates and the convention package rates are
going up after today, Thursday April 9.

We have reserved a block of rooms, normally $149/night,
for the special rate of $99/night. These will sell out
soon, and in any case the rates will return to normal starting
Friday when rooms remaining in our block (if any) are returned
to the hotel. I am told the hotel is filling completely up for
the weekend, so if you don't reserve soon, you will have to
stay at one of the other nearby hotels or motels.

The complete convention package is priced at the early-bird
rate of just $238 through this Thursday. From Friday
April 10th through Thursday April 23rd the price will go up to
standard rate of $278; and after the 23rd the at-the-
door price will be $308. Similar price increases apply
to the other package options. The complete package includes
all speakers and breakout sessions, 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches,
and the banquet in addition to all the convention and official
committee business sessions. The [url=
http://www.lawful... event and dinner on Friday
are separate. See the links above for more information.

So, if you reserve a room for two nights and get the full
convention package, acting by the end of the day tomorrow,
Thursday, could save you from $140 to $170 per person,
depending upon how much longer you wait to register.
