The Agentic AI Club: A First Look at Jev, the Model That Won't Write a Word

Tech Week Singapore is on, and the whole city is talking about where AI goes next. We want to spend an evening on one of the models actually changing how it gets built.
Two weeks ago, TypeSafe AI released Jev, a model that can't write a sentence. Ask it something and it won't explain itself, it won't reason out loud. It just gives you a decision.
Within 24 hours it became the fastest-adopted model in Vercel AI Gateway's history.

What makes it different is that it doesn't talk. Every AI model you've used until now belongs to the same family. ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, they all write. You give them a problem, they think out loud, and somewhere in that paragraph is your answer. Ask Jev something and it won't explain itself. It returns a decision with a probability attached, and nothing else.

Where that matters is inside the software you're already building. Any agent makes dozens of small decisions that never needed prose. Which tool to call next. Whether a command is safe to run. Whether this piece of context is worth keeping. Whether the job is done. Those decisions are currently being made by models built for conversation, at conversation prices.
