Devil or Angel, Trickster or Guide?:The Role of Perception in Interpreting Tarot

Most tarot readers have instinctive responses to the images presented on certain tarot cards. Appreciation, revulsion, admiration, fear, neutral, and "meh". This is a very natural occurrence and deliciously human. And it begs the question, "Why?". What leads us to react instinctively to particular images? Is it biological, neurological, social training, family traditions, archetypes from the collective unconscious? Probably it's a combination of all of these factors, and probably more.

For the time allotted to our Albuquerque Tarot Tribe Meetup, we're going to do some close examination of The Lovers and The Devil cards and through identification of the symbols and their intended meanings and associations by their creators, Pamela Coleman Smith and Arthur Edward Waite, refocus our understanding of how these two cards can both gently guide us or irritatingly prod us, towards discovering our personal Truths.

Please bring your 78 card Tarot Deck (any will do), writing materials, a light jacket or sweater and your Student's Open Mind to the Peace Love Space at Comanche Rd NE at Morris NE, Albuquerque on Saturday June 21st, 2025. The room opens at 12:30 for meeting, greeting and socializing; the program begins promptly at 1:00 pm.
