The Amsterdam Culture Group is about getting together and exploring the city's cultural life. This group is for people who want to take advantage of what the city has to offer and meet like-minded people in the process. We visit art collections, concerts, films, theatre, cabaret, and undertake a wide array of other cultural activities. Although there might be occasional exceptions, the primary language is usually English.

This is a calm and relaxed cultural nature gathering.
The guided walk takes place through the gardens and historic areas of the Hortus and lasts approximately one hour. Participants are free to continue exploring the greenhouses and gardens afterward at their own pace.
The Hortus is especially known for:

- Monumental trees and rare plants
- Tropical greenhouses

✨ Current special exhibition:
“Eye(s) Open – New Perspectives on Colonial Film Heritage”
This exhibition presents contemporary artistic perspectives on historical colonial film archives from Indonesia and Suriname. Through film, video, and digital works, the exhibition explores themes such as memory, representation, and historical perspective.
The museum also offers the permanent exhibition “What is Film?”, featuring interactive installations and the evolution of cinema history.

Andy Warhol, The Textiles reveals a lesser-known side of Andy Warhol and is on display in the Netherlands for the first time. Even before his worldwide fame as a pioneer of Pop Art, Warhol designed playful and experimental fabrics for fashion and interiors in the 1950s. Through repetition, powerful lines, and playful motifs—from ice cream sundaes and toffee apples to colorful buttons, sliced lemons, pretzels, and leaping clowns—he explored how visual language changes when it is multiplied, worn, and becomes part of everyday life.
Wilde rokken. Cobra Art as Textile showcases textiles designed by members of the Cobra movement and produced by Dutch textile printers. In the years following the Second World War, manufacturers asked artists to translate their avant-garde paintings into repeatable patterns for clothing and interior textiles. They presented these collaborations as prime examples of innovative printing and textile techniques.The exhibition features fabrics by the Dutch artists Constant, Corneille, Anton Rooskens, and Karel Appel, as well as by the Belgian artist Anne Bonnet.The fabrics ultimately became commercially and culturally successful, both in the Netherlands and abroad.

Kayan is a collective of artists and creative people who use their practice to engage directly with the complexity of their own identities.
Visual art, music, poetry, movement storytelling, sound – the form is fluid and the the format is intimate. Their work becomes a mirror and the protective barrier of audience/performer dissipates into the air between.
Kayan created a series of events exploring the process through which our identities evolve over time. Rotating in cycles, like all of nature, we are never fixed. For the closing and fifth event of this cycle – REBIRTH – we will collaborate with MidWest, a space that never shies from the complexity of identity.
For this event, we will celebrate where we’ve come and gone together, inviting previous performers back, each one will reflect and dialogue with the selves they’ve become along the way, sharing their newest work with us to usher in summer, a time of life in full swing, despite it all, an annual REBIRTH.
Come by for good food, good people and an evening filled with performances to feel reborn (together).
