The Amsterdam Culture Group is about getting together and exploring the city's cultural life. This group is for people who want to take advantage of what the city has to offer and meet like-minded people in the process. We visit art collections, concerts, films, theatre, cabaret, and undertake a wide array of other cultural activities. Although there might be occasional exceptions, the primary language is usually English.

🏛️🚶 Open Monumentendag Amsterdam — Discover Hidden Heritage 🚶🏛️

Once a year, hundreds of historic buildings and monuments across the Netherlands open their doors to the public, many of them offering access to places that are normally closed or difficult to visit. In Amsterdam, the program includes historic buildings, guided tours, exhibitions, cultural activities, and other special events.
2026 is particularly special as it marks the 40th edition of Open Monumentendag.

This will be a relaxed and flexible cultural exploration of Amsterdam.
We will meet at Vondelkerk and then explore some of the monuments and activities available during Open Monumentendag. The official program offers a wide variety of possibilities, so participants can choose what interests them most.
Depending on the program, you may discover:- Historic buildings and interiors
- Guided tours and special exhibitions
- Religious and architectural heritage
- Hidden places that are normally not open to the public
- Cultural activities, performances, and other special events
Everyone is welcome to explore at their own pace. You don't have to visit every location together — feel free to choose the monuments and activities that interest you most.

✈️🪖 Military Aviation & History — Nationaal Militair Museum 🪖✈️
National Military Museum, Verlengde Paltzerweg 1, 3768 MX, Soest, NLJoin us for an afternoon at the Nationaal Militair Museum (NMM) in Soesterberg, where we can explore the fascinating military history of the Netherlands through an impressive collection of aircraft, vehicles, weapons, uniforms, photographs, and personal stories.
With more than 300,000 objects, the NMM has the largest military collection in the Netherlands, ranging from historical weapons and uniforms to modern fighter aircraft.

### ✈️ Special aircraft openings
This date is particularly interesting for aviation enthusiasts!
On Saturday, September 26, the Breguet Atlantic will be open for visitors from 10:00 to 16:00, with guided tours where volunteers explain the history and function of this maritime patrol aircraft. No additional ticket is required beyond your museum admission.
The Fokker F-27 “Troopship” will also be open for visitors from 11:00 to 16:00.
Since our meetup starts at 14:00, participants who are particularly interested in these aircraft may want to arrive earlier to make sure they have enough time to see them before they close.***
### 🌿 Experience details
This is a relaxed and flexible museum visit.
After meeting at the entrance, we'll explore the museum together before everyone is free to continue at their own pace.
The museum covers a broad range of Dutch military history, from early weapons and military equipment to the First and Second World Wars, the Cold War, and modern armed forces.
There is also a Schatkamer (Treasure Room) featuring historic paintings and other objects from the national military heritage, making the museum interesting not only for military enthusiasts but also for those interested in art and history.***
