Join us for a special evening under the sky as we experience a partial solar eclipse at Bloemendaal aan Zee, followed later by the spectacular Perseid meteor shower.
On August 12, the Moon will pass in front of the Sun, creating a remarkable partial solar eclipse. At maximum eclipse, around 88% of the Sun will be covered. The event will take place right by the sea, with special telescopes provided by Sterrenwacht Copernicus to observe the eclipse safely.

### 🌞 Experience details

We will meet at 18:45 and enjoy the eclipse observation together.
The partial eclipse begins at approximately 19:17, reaching its maximum at 20:11, when around 88% of the Sun will be covered. The eclipse ends at approximately 21:03, shortly before the Sun and Moon set around 21:13.
Sterrenwacht Copernicus will have a special solar telescope and a smart telescope available so visitors can observe the eclipse safely.
⚠️ Eclipse glasses are essential for safely viewing the Sun. Special eclipse glasses can be purchased from the organizers at the event.(we dont organize this event. Its organized by Sterrenwacht Copernicus)

### 🌠 Optional: Perseid Meteor Shower

After the eclipse, those who wish can continue to Sterrenwacht Copernicus from around 21:30 to 23:00 to enjoy the Perseid meteor shower.
The Perseids are one of the year's most spectacular meteor showers, and the observatory will also provide additional information about both the solar eclipse and the meteor shower.
☕ Coffee and tea will also be available at the observatory.
Admission to the boulevard event and access to the observatory for the Perseids are free.

### ⚠️ Important information

The host may not be able to attend due to work commitments. If the host is unable to come, please enjoy the event together as a group and make the most of this special evening.
Transportation will not be arranged by the organizer. Please make your own transportation arrangements to and from Bloemendaal aan Zee and, if you wish to continue to the observatory afterward.
