Auroras Mestizas is a young Baroque ensemble founded in 2025 by two Peruvian musicians, Edilsa Samanez (soprano) and Jose Huamani (viola). The musicians met during their studies at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. The ensemble has set itself the goal of playing a great deal of 18th-century Latin American Baroque music and sharing it with their audience.
Auroras Mestizas will perform music by European composers such as Biber (2 of the Rosary Sonatas) and Bach (BWV 51, Höchster, mache deine Güte). Additionally, we can discover lesser-known Latin American Baroque music. For example, 'Cuando a un sol tan peregrino' by Jose de Orejón y Aparicio and 'Versos de Segundo Tono' by Ignacio de Jerusalem y Stella.
Suggested donation: 10 euros -to be collected after the concert.
