About us
Do you miss the days when media was something you could hold in your hands? Are you exhausted by the endless scroll, algorithmic recommendations, and the fast-food culture of instant gratification?
The Analogue Resistance is a Nottingham-based meetup for collectors of CRT televisions, VHS tapes, film cameras, and analogue broadcasting equipment. We are a space for people who want to step away from the glare of smart screens and reconnect with tactile, physical media. We believe that cinema and television should be an event, not an endless, mindless stream.
Recently, our focus has shifted towards active preservation. As modern platforms move towards aggressive, mandatory viewer engagement, staying off the grid is no longer just a retro hobby - it is a matter of personal safety. We are actively looking for members who have a working knowledge of analogue frequencies, older projection equipment, or standard hardware like a twelve-millimetre metric socket spanner.
