Explore Plaster Casts of Greek & Roman Statuary in the Abguss Sammlung. Sketch them if you like, and since most were originally in color, we will color images (handouts provided) with art supplies (provided or bring our own), then share and discuss. Learn how Romans wrapped a Toga and other typical apparel. Hear a Lecture on Roman Athletics (optional) by an artist who made an Intervention in the exhibition: "Modewelten" and lastly see the Piranesi prints next door at the Sammlung Scharf Gerstenberg; 16 images of Imaginary Prisons from the 18th Century. Not ancient Roman, but they are only there together for a short time and they are too good to miss. This is optional but free if you have the Staatliche Museums Card.
