Details

Join us on Wednesday evening, March 13, when Ken Tyson presents his work. Ken is a self-taught street and fine art photographer, born and bred in NYC, the city being his “muse”. Prior to moving to Florida 20 years ago, Ken was primarily a Black and White photographer, feeling that “the lack of color information in an image, enabled a viewer’s deeper involvement in the drama.”
Ken considers himself an unconventional shooter and a minimalist in post-processing, using little software. His images are created in JPEG and cropped in-camera. Throughout his years in photography, Ken says he’s been resistant to its evolutionary changes. For example, he was “last to go from black and white to color, from film to digital and from SLR to mirrorless.”
Ken Tyson’s personal mantra about photography states: ”When I walk down a street, I see everything equally and therefore Nothing. However, when I photograph down a street, I see unique pieces and patterns, and therefore, Everything.
