Join Us on Wed, 3/12 at 7 PM for "HumaNature": A Presentation by Ken Weissblum

Details
In his "HumaNature" presentation, Ken Weissblum artistically and imaginatively celebrates the human form. He creates four distinct worlds populated by lithe dancers.
- In monochromatic "Roentgen's Visions," the photos are negatives of negatives. The dancers inhabit human X-rays. They appear as small gremlins tinkering within human machines. Hauntingly artistic and sometimes comedic, their poses either harmonize with or oppose the enclosing anatomical shapes.
- In "SurReality," Ken gives us glimpses of alternate universes inside his mind. Here, dancers strike poses in whimsical studio settings, among staid ancient ruins, and even in airport metal detectors.
- In "Heavenly Bodies," dancers celebrate like unfettered goddesses in the expansiveness of the sky, planets, and galaxies in the colorful, ethereal cosmos.
- When you study "Flower Hybrids" and "Flora Huggers," cleverly concealed dancers emerge. In some images, their body language mimics the shapes of plants or garden creatures. In others, the dancers appear to be clad in projected or painted-on foliage.
Ken's award-winning work has appeared internationally in solo and group shows, galleries and museums, numerous photography magazines and other publications, photography websites and private collections.
