The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, located in Hollywood, Florida, is a paradise for those who love color and unique architecture. The hotel, housed within a monolithic glass and steel structure shaped like a guitar, can be seen from miles away. The interior is awash with magnificent design finishes that will delight your senses. There are endless photographic opportunities, both inside and out. This challenge event will be held on Saturday, November 20, 2021. The hotel and casino are open 24 hours and everyone is free to choose the time(s) of the day you would like to take photographs. We have decided to NOT meet as a group prior to or during the event. We are not certain how casino/hotel management will react to our cameras on their premises. So, be aware of their cameras watching us! AND REFRAIN FROM TAKING PHOTOS OF THE GAMING AREAS. You may get a personal escort out the door. In addition, masks will likely be required.

Twice nightly at 9:00 pm and 9:30 pm, the hotel features an LED light show that is programmed to change color and intensity and is choreographed to various songs. Six high-powered beams of light accentuate the production by projecting at least 20,000 feet into the sky. The six lights mimic the strings of an imaginary guitar neck. HOWEVER, it is highly recommended that you check these times and availability before venturing out for the light show.

If you live outside the area and would like to participate in this challenge, please visit any similar venue (casino or hotel/casino) in the area of your choice. All submitted images must be taken on Saturday, November 20, 2021.

Directions: Florida Turnpike to Griffin Road. Exit east to US-441(SR-7). South on US-441 to Seminole Way. Right on Seminole Way. As you follow the road, to the right you will come to the front of the Guitar Hotel.

If you take I-95, exit Griffin Road. West to US-441. South on US-441 to Seminole Way.

There are self-park garages. Valet parking is also available.

Follow-Up: Once the meetup ends we will create an album for you to post three (3) of your best photographs from the event. The deadline to post will be 11:59 pm on Friday, November 26. We’ll choose the best photo from the meetup album to become the permanent cover for the vent. The name of the winning photographer will also be displayed on the album cover. There will not be any honorable mentions. Eligible photos must be taken on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino or similar venue.
