TAOP MIAMI - SPECIAL MIAMI DESIGN DISTRICT FIELD PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP

SPECIAL PHOTOWALK WITH ONCE-A-YEAR “MIAMI COUNCOURS” AT MIAMI DESIGN DISTRICT / You are cordially invited to join our group once again for a great field photography workshop, offering opportunities to enjoy this unusual and fashionable South Florida area, to expand your artistic / technical photography knowledge, add new "know-hows" and images to your photography toolbox / portfolio... while enjoying our group's comradeship. And in this occasion, we have THE 2026 MIAMI CONCOURS EXHIBIT will be on display... a “curated display of HYPERCARS, VINTAGE SUPERCARS, AND UNIQUE POST-WAR AUTOMOBILES” to admire, enjoy, and photograph at The District.

As locally advertised, the Miami Design District is known for its ever-expanding modern architecture, upscale design stores, public artwork, Art Galleries, luxury fashion and jewelry boutiques, as well as cafes and celebrity-chef restaurants… possibly surpassing Wynwood’s high-end value.

The workshop leader / instructor (Rafael) taught photography classes at all levels and has led many field photography outings for over 15 years and will be available during this shoot for specific tips, technical consultation, and photography information to capture better images and make this a memorable learning experience for you. This workshop is a “One-of-a-Kind” technically supported photoshoot with attention to practical learning for which there is a $10 fee.

We’ll meet in the heart of the Design District on the corner of NE 40 Street and NE 1 Avenue, at 10:00 AM. For your consideration, the Museum Parking Garage (Museum Garage, 90 NE 41st St, Miami, FL 33137) -around the corner from where we’ll meet, is probably the most convenient and cheaper parking BUT also note that there is plenty of parking along the streets.

-PARTICIPANTS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR PROTECTING THEMSELVES AND OTHER GROUP MEMBERS AGAINST POSSIBLE VIRAL CONTAMINATION AND IT IS IMPLICITLY AFFIRMED (IN THIS AND ALL MEETUP OUTINGS) THAT EACH ATTENDING PARTICIPANT IS SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR HIS / HER OWN ACTIONS, PROTECTION, AND SAFEKEEPING-

It’ll be a GREAT morning tomorrow for our Miami Design District photoshoot at 10:00 AM: temps in the low-70s, no chance of rain, and mostly sunny with 29% cloud coverage.

WE’LL MEET AT THE NW CORNER OF NE 40 STREET AND NE 1 AVENUE, AT 10:00 AM to review our route, collect the $10 MeetUp fee, exchange technical information -such as camera settings, what to expect for scenery and talk about photo opps in the area. Remember we’ll be walking together, and we’ll share composition ideas and technical solutions for critical conditions.

IT’S GOING TO BE CROWDED… with the Ninth Annual Miami Concours display of collection of hypercars and rare vintage supercars all over.

MUST DO: Charge your camera battery, clean your equipment, take a test shot , check the memory card and confirm all is good, and (possibly) bring water for hydration… be ready! Tripods are not advisable. I would recommend a short zoom (24-70mm) for this location but remember that any lens (any GOOD lens) can make extraordinary images… YOU VISUALIZE the creation!

NOTE… The most convenient parking -closer to our meeting location and inexpensive, is at The Museum Parking Garage (90 NE 41st St, Miami, FL 33137) with entrance along NE 41 Street.
