Join us for our First Annual “Weird and Wild in the Woods” Camping Retreat for Women!!!
Where women's retreat meets summer camp meets primitive party in the woods!
Friday – Sunday, August 1-3, 2025 | Cosby, TN in the Smoky Mountains
This isn’t your average retreat!
It’s weird dress-up and dance breaks
It’s painting your thighs with affirmations
It’s building fairy houses and laughing around a fire like the grown-up kids we are
It’s not about escaping life but rewilding it… and being weird about itAnd yeah, there will be s’mores and sparklers. Obviously!
Imagine a judgement free zone to be your fully authentic self where the intention is to be weird and wild!!!!
We’re talking a weird wardrobe party, hike/dance through the Smokies, body painting, talking to trees, intuition development, crystal bowl meditations, somatic healing education, belly laughs, dancing, camp fire singalongs, dips in mountain streams, all complete with nourishing meals, morning movement that feels good, and activities and experiences to delight your inner child and your weirdest and wildest self.
### What do we mean by Weird and Wild, exactly?
This event was inspired last summer when I went to the woods to recharge because I was feeling low. I found myself dancing weirdly and wildly barefoot in a mountain stream by myself, and I thought “how freaking fun would this be with other women on a camping retreat?!” And the name “Weird and Wild in the Woods ” was given to me. A year later it’s coming to fruition!
What do we mean by weird and wild, exactly?
Weird: “of strange or extraordinary character : ODD, FANTASTIC, relating to or caused by the supernatural: MAGICAL”
Weird derives from the Old English noun wyrd, essentially meaning “fate” and the power to control one’s destiny.Wild: living in a state of nature; not subject to restraint or regulation : UNCONTROLLED, deviating from the intended or expected course; a wild, free, or natural state
“To be a wild woman means to establish territory, to find one’s pack, to be in one’s body with certainty and pride regardless of the body’s gifts and limitations, to speak and act in one’s behalf, to be aware, alert, to draw on the innate feminine powers of intuition and sensing, to come into one’s cycles, to find what one belongs to, to rise with dignity, to retain as much consciousness as possible” – ‘Women Who Run With the Wolves’ by Clarissa Pinkola Estes.
We’ll have experiences to explore and express our weirdness in all definitions of the word — strange, magical, odd, supernatural, fantastic and experiences to connect with our wild nature.
