The Bay Social Connection

What Makes Us Unique:
This group is for anyone interested in putting their phone, laptop or mobile device down and getting away from the hustle and bustle of a busy Silicon Valley life in order to make a more real, authentic, person-to-person connection with those across the greater San Francisco Bay Area. We value networking, collaboration and building real relationships, regardless of demographic, industry or professional status. Our group is focused on providing real-time opportunities to get out and about and meet those in various regions, from the South Bay to the far reaches of the North Bay or Peninsula - including fun happy hour events, seasonal hikes or outdoor activities, lunch and learns, on the table discussions and more. 
How We Began:
Fun fact, our group was actually inspired by an event with an "On the Table" theme in which people from different walks of life were invited to host food, drinks, and conversation and leave it all on the table. We decided to keep that vibe going and welcome everyone to come hang out, make a new friend, a new connection or even a new professional ally. 
What We Expect:
Although as a host we're big networkers and involved in many other MeetUp Groups, truth be told we're not a huge fan of those types of events where someone just hands you a business card or makes small talk and leaves. Instead of opening with "What do you do for work?" we encourage our members to start off by speaking to their hobbies, interests, and things they like to do outside of work. Although your professional life may contribute to your quality of life, it's easy to default towards making it a big part of your personal life. 
Why Join:
Join our group if you're ready to get back to basics, put your conversation and communications skills to the test or build strong, valuable connections. We're grateful to host, and as a host, we encourage attendees to commit to regular attendance in order to keep up the group's energy and vibe.

Many of the events of this group may involve the consumption of alcohol and/or various activities including outdoor excursions. Please be mindful by committing and attending any events that you obey all venue and location rules and guidelines and are responsible for your own actions. As a reminder, please be mindful of your conduct within the group and internally and externally while attending any events. As a courtesy reminder, you are an adult and responsible for your speech, conduct or physical interactions with other members of our Meetup Group. 
Please be advised that this MeetUp group does not conduct background checks or follow up on the background of any of our new or existing members that may be joining the group. As our events are normally located in public venues we cannot exclude any parties from attending but may limit attendees to abide by venue events and special guidelines. This MeetUp group makes no representations or warranties as to the conduct of its members. For questionable conduct, please alert the host/hostess immediately during the event and during the time of the incident in order to document. However, the MeetUp Group organizers, venues and event hosts of this MeetUp group are NOT responsible for resolution of such events or liable for any damages whatsoever, whether they are direct in nature, indirect, general, special, compensatory, consequential or incidental, including those arising out of or relating to your conduct or anyone else's conduct in connection with or attending an event with The Bay Social Connection. This includes, without limitation, bodily injury caused by participating in any outdoor excursions or physical activities or experiencing emotional distress. 
As a participant, you agree to take reasonable precautions in all physical activity or interactions with other members of the group, including if you decide to meet outside of a scheduled event. In addition, you agree to this group's terms and conditions noted above and to abide by them, and further hold harmless the organizers and event hosts for injury, loss or damage arising out of your attendance or your guest’s attendance of an event, whether caused by the fault of yourself, your guests, or other third parties. Please review event details including venue guidelines, policies, by-laws, rules and regulations prior to attendance as needed and committing to any event.
