New to Canberra? Lived here for years? Or simply looking to meet new people and try new experiences?

The Best of Canberra (BoC) Social Group is all about friendship, fun, and making the most of everything Canberra and the surrounding region have to offer.

We welcome people of all ages and backgrounds who enjoy getting out, being social, and discovering the best our city has to offer. From casual catch-ups and dining experiences to festivals, walks, live entertainment, and unique local events, there’s something for everyone.

We also love supporting local Canberra businesses and those throughout the surrounding region whenever possible.

Our Organisers and fellow Besties love welcoming new members at events. Please make sure your Meetup profile includes a clear photo of yourself so we can easily recognise you when you arrive.

Exclusive events
Events organised through the ‘Best of Canberra’ Social Group are exclusive to this group and will not be duplicated or advertised in other Meetup groups.

Our community
We are committed to providing a friendly, welcoming and inclusive environment where everyone feels comfortable attending, whether it’s your first Meetup or your fiftieth.

Membership
As of June 2026, membership of the ‘Best of Canberra’ Social Group is free. All organisers and event hosts are unpaid volunteers who simply enjoy bringing people together through a shared love of social interaction.

A Reminder to Our Besties
To help keep our events running smoothly, we ask all members to:

• Update your RSVP as soon as possible if you can no longer attend an event.

• Remove yourself from the waitlist if you are no longer able to attend.

• Treat all members with kindness, respect, and courtesy.

• Remember that all Organisers volunteer their own time to plan and host events. They do this because they enjoy bringing our community together and are not paid for their efforts.

Please also be aware that repeated no-shows, last-minute cancellations for events with paid venues, or consistently failing to update your RSVP may result in removal from the group.
