World Vision Global 6K Walk For Water (5/2 Saturday, 7:30AM)

"World Vision is a Christian humanitarian organization dedicated to working with children, families, and their communities worldwide to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice. Six kilometers, or 3.7 miles, is the average distance a person in the developing world has to walk to find water—water that is often not safe to drink or wash their hands with. We want to help you make that fact personal by covering that same distance so that someone else no longer has to."

We will be hosting a team for the World Vision Global 6K For Water. This annual event is a fantastic remind of the scarcity of clean water in many parts of the world. We will start at The Bridge / SDA church (address near bottom), walk to Freestone Park to complete the distance, and then walk back to the church when complete. The walk will be at a relatively slow pace, as we have children and seniors participating. Dogs are welcome!

(Note that our group is participating on **May 2nd**!! This is not the usual date as most other teams, but we are hoping to beat the heat by participating a couple weeks early.)

Some Tips:
-Make sure to dress according to weather.
-Make sure to wear comfortable walking shoes
-Please bring plenty of water. We will be able to refill bottles at the park if needed
