Leaving Pill making our way across fields to Portbury and on into Prior’s Wood where hopefully we can feast our eyes on the glorious covering of Bluebells. After we have taken our fill of Bluebells we may be able to spot some wild animals and wild ruined building. Shortly after we will have our picnic lunch. When suitably refreshed will make our way crossing fields and rolling countryside with views overlooking Bristol. Returning to Pill to take in refreshments in the Duke of Cornwall or The Star. There are stiles, gates and a few busy roads to cross. Livestock in fields.
There are no toilets at the start or anywhere on route.

Car share if you can it will help to reduce our impact on the local area.

* I am looking for some volunteers to help with the important task of "Backmarking" (helping keep the group together), your help would be much appreciated by the group.

**WEATHER**

* If bad weather is forecast, the walk will be cancelled the day before.
* Unless dreadful weather on the morning of the walk, then the walk will be cancelled by 8 am.

**Boot rating for walks, this is calculated by the distance and gradient: -**
**1 Boot** \- For all walkers\. Mainly flat surfaces\, minimal ascents & descents\, around 4 miles on well\-defined paths\.
**2 Boot** \- Suitable for most walkers\. Small ascents and descents 4\-6 miles typically\, in countryside on rough paths\.
**3 Boot** \- For regular walkers\. One or more steep ascents/descents 6\-8 miles on rough terrain\.
**4 Boot** \- Suitable for strong walkers\. Hilly terrain\, with steep/long ascents/descents\. More than 8 miles\. e\.g\.\, Brecon Beacons or Mendips\.
**5 Boot** \- Suitable for strong walkers\. Hilly terrain\, with steep/long ascents/descents\, often on loose terrain\. More than 10 miles in challenging terrain \(e\.g\.\, Snowdon or Pen\-y\-fan\)\.
