A forward deployed engineer does not know your company
they do not know your customers, your codebase, which tests lie, which weird process exists for a good reason or who remembers why that table has 40 columns. they still need to be useful quickly

i do this across our group companies at aries global. i work with the engineers, learn how the product actually runs, find what is slowing them down and change it. sometimes it is the code. sometimes it is the way work gets planned, tested or reviewed
